TechnoGym's Group Cycle Connect

According to U.S. Traveler, direct spending by travelers in the U.S. averages $2.5 billion a day, $105.8 million an hour, $1.8 million a minute and $29,398 a second. In the highly competitive hospitality market getting a piece of that billion dollar pie means offering more than just comfortable beds and clean towels, which is why the many of the most successful hotels and resorts are leading off their marketing campaigns with fitness.

For hotels trying to compete in a saturated market, fitness is a solid investment. A TripAdvisor survey of 1,400 U.S. travelers revealed that 53 percent said they always or often exercise when they're on the road. As travelers demand more fitness offerings, forward thinking hotels are adding state-of-the-art equipment, highly trained instructors, customized spaces and elaborate sound systems to provide guests with a group fitness experience that rivals any they could find back home.

Finally, leading fitness technology manufacturer, Technogym, has brought its cutting edge exercise technology to a new indoor cycling line that makes it easy for hotels and resorts to incorporate the latest fitness trends. Technogym’s Group Cycle Connect is a simple, turn-key solution for the hospitality industry that allows exercisers to realize all of the benefits of advanced exercise technology in a simple, exciting way and connect with their home gym or trainer through their mywellness account.

When users enter a class with Technogym’s Group Cycle Connect bikes, they simply log in to their mywellness account on the Group Cycle Connect console. As the rider performs the workout, training data is sent from the console to the instructor’s UNITY SELF Kiosk via Wi-Fi. The Group Cycle App allows the trainer to control the video screen to display data, videos, music and motivational graphics. On an individual level, the rider’s data is sent to their mywellness account on the cloud for personal use or to share with a personal trainer.

Suddenly each rider is automatically a part of an integrated web of cloud-connected data that can be harnessed by the class instructor as a powerful tool for motivation, feedback and analysis. While this is happening, riders can view their own elegantly simple cycle console to receive basic feedback on their performance.

When riders come together they depend on each other for motivation, support and comradery. Adding the visual data aspect to an indoor cycling class engages exercisers with the instructor and each other, and can ultimately drive retention and social connection. Users can even share their stats and results on social media to engage with a wider social network.

The Group Cycle Connect allows hotels and resorts to offer the same high-end fitness technology that is available on their other fitness machines in the facility, but incorporate it into a fast-paced and exciting group fitness experience. Better yet, Group Cycle Connect is largely wire-free, utilizing cloud-based technology to exchange data, making it easy for hotels to make the most of the exercise space.
