"Technology-based carbon sequestration" refers to the process of capturing and storing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere using technological methods, most commonly through "Direct Air Capture (DAC)" which actively removes CO2 directly from the air using specialized equipment, allowing for long-term storage underground in geological formations, essentially removing carbon already present in the atmosphere; this is distinct from traditional carbon capture methods which focus on capturing emissions at the point of release, like power plants, before they enter the atmosphere.
